BEIJING (AP) 鈥 U.S. government bans on Chinese-owned video sharing app TikTok reveal Washington鈥檚 own insecurities and are an abuse of state power, a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson said Tuesday.

The U.S. government 鈥渉as been overstretching the concept of national security and abusing state power to suppress other countries鈥 companies," Mao Ning said at a daily briefing. 鈥淗ow unsure of itself can the U.S., the world鈥檚 top superpower, be to fear a young person's favorite app to such a degree?鈥
