VANCOUVER - The Vancouver Canucks have signed depth forward Linus Karlsson to a two-year extension.聽
The deal, announced Friday, carried an annual-average value of US$2.25 million.
Karlsson, 26, has 16 points (nine goals, seven assists) over 36 games with the Canucks this season.
The six-foot-one, 178-pound centre from Eksjo, Sweden, has played all 63 of his career NHL games for Vancouver, recording 12 goals and 10 assists, and helped the club's American Hockey League affiliate, the Abbotsford Canucks, to a Calder Cup last season.聽
Earlier Friday, the Canucks (16-20-3) placed centre Marco Rossi on injured reserve and recalled forward Arshdeep Bains from Abbotsford of the AHL.
Rossi is out with a lower-body injury. The IR move was retroactive to last Tuesday.
The 24-year-old centre has 15 points (five goals, 10 assists) in 25 games with the Canucks and Minnesota Wild this season.
Bains, from Surrey, B.C., has a goal and five assists in 26 games with Vancouver this season. He has three goals and three assists in five games with Abbotsford.
The moves were made before the Canucks faced the visiting Seattle Kraken on Friday night.
