OSHAWA - Police in Oshawa, Ont., are searching for a suspect after a 23-year-old man died following a fight outside a Tim Hortons.
The Durham Regional Police Service says they responded to a report on Saturday night of an armed person and found a young man with traumatic injuries who was later pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say they learned a fight had occurred between two groups of men outside a Tim Hortons in the north end of the city that left the victim with fatal injuries.Â
Police say they launched an extensive search involving canine and air support units for the suspect and several other men who fled the area, but weren't able to locate them.
Investigators believe this to be an isolated incident and say there are no concerns for public safety.Â
The force's homicide unit is investigating and police are asking anyone who was near 2700 Simcoe Street North between 7:30 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. who may have footage of the incident to contact authorities.Â
