Power knocked out in Toronto's downtown core after transmission station fire

TORONTO - Toronto Hydro says power has been restored to hundreds of customers who were affected by an outage in the downtown core after a transmission station fire on Tuesday.

The outage happened around noon and knocked out power to hospitals, a university and part of the financial district as utility crews scrambled to assess the damage.
