TXBHALIFAX - Police in Halifax seized a small arsenal of weapons from a home late Monday, including grenades, two swords, a spear, four handguns and more than two dozen long guns.
The RCMP say officers were dispatched to Astral Drive in Cole Harbour after they received what appeared to be an accidental 911 call around 8:30 p.m.
It is routine for the Mounties to follow up on such calls to confirm there is no emergency.
Upon arriving at the home, officers learned there had been a dispute between a man and a woman, and they spotted damage throughout the home.
They also observed ammunition and firearms that were not safely stored.
The man is facing several charges including mischief, possession of a prohibited weapon and unsafe storage of firearms.
