An officer with the Department of Homeland Security Special Response Team (SRT) stands against a protester outside a United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility as protests against the Trump administration continue in Portland, Ore., Monday, Oct. 6, 2025. A photo of protesters dangling doughnuts in front of a line of police officers has been misrepresented online as coming out of the protests in Portland. In fact, the photo was taken in Toronto and is more than a decade old. THE CANADIAN PRESS/AP - San Francisco Chronicle, Stephen Lam

A photo shared online in October supposedly showed protesters in Portland, Ore. 'baiting' United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents with doughnuts suspended from fishing lines.Ìý

The photo is actually from a protest at Toronto police headquarters and is at least a decade old. While some Portland protesters did taunt ICE agents with a similar stunt, the photo is a misrepresentation.Ìý
